2. What data we process
Browsing data. The systems that run this website collect, in their normal operation, some data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet protocols: IP address, browser and operating system, date and time of the request, the page requested and its outcome. This data is used only to keep the website working and secure, and is not used to identify users.
Data you provide. If you write to the email address shown on the website, we process your address and the content of your message in order to reply.
Reserved area. For the people authorised to publish content (editorial staff) we process name, email and login credentials, which are needed to manage the account.
The website uses no data collection forms, analytics tools, advertising pixels or profiling services. Fonts are hosted on our own server: browsing the website sends no data to third-party services.
3. Purposes and legal bases
- Operation and security of the website: legitimate interest of the controller (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Replying to requests sent by email: steps taken at the request of the data subject and legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
- Management of reserved-area accounts: performance of the relationship with the editorial staff (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Compliance with legal obligations, where applicable (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
4. Methods and retention
Data is processed electronically, with security measures appropriate to prevent loss, unlawful use or unauthorised access. Browsing data is kept only for as long as strictly necessary for the security of the service, according to the technical retention times of the hosting provider. Correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle the request. Account data is kept for as long as the account remains active.
5. Recipients
Data may be processed by the hosting provider, acting as processor under Art. 28 GDPR, and by people authorised by the association. Data is not disclosed or sold to third parties and is not transferred outside the European Economic Area.
6. Your rights
You may at any time request access to your data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and you may object to processing (Articles 15–22 GDPR), by writing to info@habeasmentis.org. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it).
7. Cookies
The public website sets no profiling, analytics or third-party cookies. For this reason no consent banner is shown.
Only the editorial reserved area uses a technical session cookie, needed to keep you logged in: it is deleted when the browser is closed or when you log out and, being strictly necessary, does not require consent (Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code and the Garante’s Guidelines of 10 June 2021).
You can manage or delete cookies at any time from your browser settings.
8. Links to other websites
The website links to external websites, such as the publications in the press review. When you open them, data processing is governed by those websites’ own policies.

This notice may be updated. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the date of the last update.
